# Mining Node

Mining Nodes are responsible for SatoshiNet block production, transaction ordering, and contract execution. They are the base role for network execution capability and fee flow.

The node software and block-production path are implemented and running. Open participation rules remain separate from implementation capability.

## Questions Still Requiring Public Answers

1. What a Mining Node does.
2. How it participates in block production.
3. How block producers are selected.
4. What GAS staking does.
5. What actual network fees a node can receive.
6. Server, bandwidth, uptime, and security requirements.
7. How to join testnet.
8. How to upgrade and exit.
9. Which penalty rules are still under design.

## Current Boundary

Node fees come from actual network service, not from fixed-yield products. Existing mainnet/testnet nodes do not mean that third parties can join block production without admission. Staking thresholds, penalties, unstaking time, and open admission remain under design.
